Indianapolis bicyclist, 23, dies after hit by bus

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Police say an Indianapolis bicyclist has died after being struck by a school bus while riding within a street’s bike lane.

Police say no children were on the bus when it struck 23-year-old Neil Kelty on the city’s north side about 7:30 a.m.

Investigators say the bus was making a left turn at an intersection when it struck Kelty. They weren’t immediately sure who had the right of way.

Police say 72-year-old bus driver Bessie Smith was shaken but not injured.

Kelty was wearing a helmet at the time.
