CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Things will seem a bit greener in Charleston now that the city has won a $20,000 urban forestry grant.

Charleston is one of ten winners of this year’s TD Green Streets Grants which are awarded by TD Bank and the Arbor Day Foundation.

Mayor Joe Riley joins representatives from the city, the bank and neighborhood groups on Thursday to plant a tree celebrating both the award and national Arbor Day. The award is given to recognize innovation in urban forestry.

Both Greenville and Myrtle Beach won similar grants last year.
