RIDGELAND, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi-based Butler Snow law firm has donated $50,000 to the Birmingham Museum of Art in Alabama.

The firm, which recently expanded its Birmingham office with the addition of 20 lawyers, made the presentation Thursday at an event attended by city and state officials and representatives of the firm, including former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.

Butler Snow chairman Donald Clark Jr. says the firm has long supported the arts in communities in which it works.

The Birmingham Museum of Art’s collection includes 25,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and other items.

Museum officials say the donation will be used to broaden outreach programs.

Butler Snow now has 280 attorneys in 17 offices worldwide. It recently expanded in the New York, Denver and Atlanta-Macon markets.
