FLINT, Mich. (AP) - Family members and police are trying to determine how a mother reported missing in Sanilac County end up dead inside a Flint home that was being inspected before demolition.

Denise Apley tells The Flint Journal (https://bit.ly/1ntxsfI ) that she had a sense that something bad happened to her daughter, Kimberly Schubel, who went missing in March 2013. Apley, who now lives in Texas, recently got a call notifying her that Schubel’s body was found.

A contract employee sent to the home belonging to the Genesee County Land Bank on April 9 to look for hazardous materials such as asbestos made the discovery.

Police aren’t commenting on the ongoing investigation.

Schubel was 29 at the time of her disappearance. Apley says her daughter had two young sons and lived in Sanilac County.
