LAKE HARMONY, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in northeastern Pennsylvania say a fisherman died after he fell in a river and was swept away.

The (Hazleton) Standard Speaker (https://bit.ly/1kbV6K8 ) reports that the 63-year-old man was fishing with a friend in the Lehigh River in Carbon County.

Chief Bill Bresnak of Kidder Township fire department said the man fell over at about 5 p.m. Thursday, went under the surface and was swept away by a strong current.

Bresnak said the body of the Luzerne County resident, whose name was not released, was recovered about a half-mile away. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
