CENTRAL, S.C. (AP) - A man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of another man in Central.

Pickens County deputies say they got a call at around 8 p.m. Thursday about a fight outside the home of 53-year-old Benjamin Vinson.

Authorities say Vinson left the home, later returned with a shotgun and killed 27-year-old John Phillip Chipwood.

Deputies found Chipwood lying in the yard with a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen. He died at a hospital.

It wasn’t known if Vinson has an attorney.
