RINGWOOD, Ill. (AP) - Executives at a manufacturing company say they’re laying off 135 workers and closing a suburban Chicago factory in Ringwood.

Modine Manufacturing engineers and manufactures heat transfer products.

The Racine, Wis.-based company said that it plans to close the McHenry County facility over the course of the next 18 months. A company spokeswoman said a bulk of the layoffs will take place in 2015.

Production will be moved to other Modine plants in the U.S. and Mexico.

The (Crystal Lake) Northwest Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1fb9FP7 ) the factory opened in 1951 and makes light-duty vehicular and automotive segments.
