DENVER (AP) - Firefighters have controlled a large wind-whipped brush fire near Quincy Reservoir southeast of Denver.
Sgt. Dana Hatfield, a spokesman for the Aurora Fire Department, tells The Denver Post (https://bit.ly/QJ8g7h ) the fire was reported Saturday, but he did not know how big it was. The blaze, which was controlled by 3 p.m., did not cause any injuries or prompt any evacuations.
A “red flag” fire danger warning is in effect in the area until 8 p.m. Saturday, and high winds are expected ahead of a cold front. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph.
