OKEECHOBEE, Fla. (AP) - Okeechobee and Hendry counties will have free hunter safety courses hosted by state wildlife officials.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is holding the events on Saturday at the shooting ranges of the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office in the city and Hendry County Sheriff’s Office between Clewiston and LaBelle.
A commission statement says participants must first complete the online portion of the course before attending the event that includes live-firing instruction. Students will learn about several topics, including hunting laws, safe gun handling and hunter ethics.
