WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Progressive activists from across South Carolina are discussing health care reform and this year’s elections during a spring meeting.

On Saturday, the Progressive Network is scheduled to host a gathering at the Teamsters Local 509 Union Hall in West Columbia. A morning session is planned to discuss strategies that churches and civic groups can use to educate voters about the Affordable Care Act.

In the afternoon, talks are planned about outlining a political action strategy to target primaries and general elections.

The daylong event is followed by a social and a dinner.
