PROVO, Utah (AP) - The victim of an ATV crash in Utah County has been identified as a 63-year-old Lehi man.

Sheriff’s deputies say Michael Boren was riding out of a canyon in the extreme northwestern part of the county on Thursday when his ATV ran up an embankment and he was thrown to the ground.

The ATV then rolled on top of him and trapped him face down. Boren apparently was unable to free himself and died.

Investigators suspect drugs were a factor in the accident. The medical examiner’s office is investigating.

A man chanced upon the accident scene Thursday night and phoned authorities.
