ADRIAN, Mich. (AP) - Officials in Adrian have decided to move a sculpture after complaints that it was too racy.
The Daily Telegram reports (https://bit.ly/1tZauPf ) “Blue Human Condition” is to be installed Tuesday in Yew Park unless poor weather interferes. It had been placed next to city offices last week.
City Administrator Shane Horn says the new site is “still viewable, but in a lesser-traffic area.”
“Blue Human Condition” was created by Mark Chatterley of Williamston. It depicts seven human-like, gender-neutral figures in varying standing and seated positions. One of the figures looks toward the ground with the top of its head in the pelvic region of one of the standing figures.
Chatterley says he’s disappointed his sculpture is being moved.
