HANOVER, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire town of Hanover has a new police chief.

Charlie Dennis is expected to start work in early June.

Dennis, who has over 28 years of law-enforcement experience, is currently police chief for the city of Reidsville, North Carolina, where he restructured the city’s community policing program and devised an elementary school safety program.

Before that, he was police chief in Page, Arizona, where he started a Neighborhood Watch/Business Watch program.

Dennis succeeds longtime Police chief Nicholas Giaccone, who retired last year.

He said he looks forward to serving and interacting with residents, businesses, Dartmouth College, and visitors.
