ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a South Carolina man, saying he fired multiple shots at an occupied car near Asheville Mall.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports (https://avlne.ws/1k6VAOE) Asheville police Sgt. Dave Romick said the shooting occurred on South Tunnel Road near Asheville Mall. Romick said callers to 911 described a man riding a motorcycle and shooting at a vehicle occupied by two other men.

Police said the suspect wrecked his motorcycle and entered the mall, where he was apprehended.

Romick said 52-year-old Isaac Allen Beverly of Columbia, South Carolina, faces several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

He is being held in the Buncombe County jail under $100,000 bond. Romick didn’t know if Beverly has an attorney.
