SALEM, Ore. (AP) - Time is running short for Oregonians to register to vote before Oregon’s primary elections.
Tuesday is the deadline to register or change party affiliation. Only members of the Republican or Democratic parties can cast ballots in the party primaries.
Paper forms must be delivered to county election offices by 5 p.m. or receive an April 29 postmark. People with a valid Oregon driver’s license can register online at www.OregonVotes.gov until 11:59 p.m.
Election workers will begin mailing ballots on Wednesday. They’re due by May 20, when they’ll be counted and the results announced.
Republicans are voting on a nominee for the U.S. Senate, and both parties have several districts with contested primaries for U.S. House and the state Legislature.
