CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police says two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting.

Detectives say they arrested 20-year-old Tyree Lavarchio Sifford Thursday. They said 22-year-old Jamarick Yamon Horton was arrested Wednesday night.

Sifford is charged with first-degree murder. Horton is charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

It’s not immediately known if either man has an attorney.

The charges stem from the death of 20-year-old Alquez Lee Thompson of Charlotte. A statement from police says Thompson’s body was found shortly after 2:30 p.m. Monday in an area bordered by Oaklawn Avenue, Interstate 77 and the Brookshire Freeway.
