NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say vehicles involved in multiple accidents have been cleared from the bridge that carries Interstate 84 over the Hudson River.

The New York State Bridge Authority says Thursday morning’s accidents involved multiple vehicles on the eastbound lanes of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge connecting Orange and Dutchess counties 60 miles north of New York City.

The agency says no serious injuries have been reported.

Officials say emergency crews have left the bridge and tow trucks have hauled away multiple damaged vehicles. The crash backed up eastbound traffic past I-84’s intersection with Route 9W on the Newburgh side of the bridge.

Officials say traffic is returning to normal.

State police say troopers responded to the scene but details aren’t available yet.
