LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A body found in the desert near the Arizona-California border has been identified as a Lake Havasu City man reported missing last month.

Lake Havasu City police say the Mohave County Medical Examiner completed an autopsy and positively identified the body as that of 48-year-old David S. Hawkins.

Police say Hawkins had been reported missing by his family on March 24.

The body was discovered Sunday afternoon by a citizen who was off-roading in the desert area.

Authorities say the autopsy didn’t reveal any obvious signs of trauma to the body.

They say the cause and manner of death are pending a toxicology report.
