WINCHESTER, Va. (AP) - Police say two northern Virginia residents have been arrested on heroin distribution charges after a man died of an apparent overdose in Frederick County.

A statement from the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug Task Force says 28-year-old Brandi Marple and 37-year-old Dennis K. Getz were arrested Tuesday on one felony count apiece. They were taken to a jail and it wasn’t immediately known whether they had attorneys.

The statement says an autopsy is planned on the body of 31-year-old Andrew B. Lowder, who was found in a home north of Winchester earlier in the day.

Tuesday’s death brings to 11 the number of heroin-related fatalities this year in a five-county region served by the task force.
