BAKER, La. (AP) - Police in Baker have arrested a man accused of firing two gunshots into the ground outside a private club where three teenagers were fatally shot during a weekend birthday party.

Baker Police Chief Mike Knaps said police on Thursday booked 24-year-old Donnie T. Cavalier of Baton Rouge on a count of illegal use of a weapon. The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1lsA0Yj ) that Cavalier told investigators he fired two shots into the ground outside the Baker Civic Club on March 28 in an attempt to control the chaos after the shooting of four teens. A 15-year-old girl and two boys, ages 15 and 18, died of gunshot wounds. A 19-year-old male was injured.

A 16-year-old arrested in the case faces three counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.
