PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Authorities say a man wanted for a killing last year in Providence has been arrested in New York City

Rhode Island State Police, Providence Police and Rhode Island’s U.S. marshal say 20-year-old Felix Olivares of Providence was taken into custody Thursday at a Brooklyn apartment.

Olivares was sought in the August 2013 shooting of 20-year-old Johenlly “Gabby” Espinal. Police said then Espinal had been in a relationship with a woman who also dated another suspect in the shooting.

Police said Espinal was driving out of a parking lot in the Wiggin Village housing complex when his car was rammed by another car. They said the second driver jumped out, shot Espinal and ran.

Police said Olivares will be arraigned in New York as a fugitive before proceedings to return him to Rhode Island.
