COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - The two largest groups that lobby on behalf of Vermont store owners are merging.

The Vermont Grocers Association and the Vermont Retailers Association will have a combined membership of 830 businesses.

The new name is the Vermont Retail and Grocers Association.

Jim Harrison of the grocers association is going to lead the new organization. He tells Vermont Public Radio (https://bit.ly/1gqir5H) both groups have a lot of similar interests and priorities and have already been working together.
