MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities are seeking to shut down two Morgantown businesses that allegedly sold large quantities of synthetic marijuana.
U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld (EE’-len-feld) says search warrants were executed Tuesday at Mid-Nite Adult and the X-Hale Hookah Lounge. Ihlenfeld says undercover agents made purchases at both businesses and the substances were sent to a laboratory for analysis.
He says civil complaints were filed Wednesday seeking to prevent the businesses from additional synthetic marijuana sales and to seize certain assets, including business licenses and inventories containing a controlled substance.
The Mon Valley Drug Task Force is leading the investigation.
No criminal charges were filed.
Ihlenfeld says Mid-Nite Adult allegedly generated $3.2 million and X-Hale generated more than $1 million over a 20-minth period from the sale of synthetic marijuana.
