PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) - Two pit bulls are in quarantine in Mercer County after they bit three people and attacked another dog.

Mercer County animal control officer Tracy Monninger tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph (https://bit.ly/1o3bP3a ) that the owner surrendered the dogs following the attacks.

Monninger says the dogs escaped from their yard Tuesday by going under a fence. They attacked another dog next door and dragged it under the fence into their yard.

She says three people were bitten while trying to break up the dogs.

The pit bulls will remain in quarantine for 10 days. Monninger says a magistrate will then decide whether they should be euthanized.
