NEWFIELDS, N.H. (AP) - Firefighters have put out a fire in a church that’s been converted into a house in Newfields, N.H.

Fire Chief Jeff Buxton tells WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/1mHAWId) the fire started late afternoon Thursday in a room that doubles as a bathroom and laundry room.

No injuries were reported.

The former Catholic church has been on Main Street for decades.

The cause was not immediately known. Buxton said there’s been some smoke and water damage, but the building is not a total loss.
