LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s office is planning a ceremony to recognize National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

Organizers say officials from the District Attorney’s office and the president and CEO of the Partnership Against Domestic Violence are scheduled to speak to an audience of crime victims, law enforcement, prosecutors and elected officials Friday morning at the District Attorney’s office in Lawrenceville.

Organizers say the event is also expected to include a musical performance, an annual wreath laying ceremony and a balloon release to honor crime victims and their families, weather permitting.

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is from April 6-12.
