BALL, La. (AP) - A man wearing headphones was struck by a train and killed as he walked along tracks in the town of Ball.

The victim of Wednesday’s accident was identified as Arch Youngblood Jr. of Pineville.

Ball police said the conductor on the Union Pacific train sounded the horn several times but Youngblood apparently could not hear the train as he walked on the left side of the tracks. Youngblood was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.
