MONROE, La. (AP) - The state transportation department has shut down a bridge in Ouachita Parish while repairs are made.

Regional administrator Marshall Hill tells The News-Star (https://tnsne.ws/1pWGT4a) a routine inspection found rotting timbers in the Louisiana Highway 151 bridge near Central Elementary School.

He expects repairs to take about three weeks

Ouachita Parish schools have rerouted some buses serving Calhoun Middle, Calhoun Elementary, Central Elementary and West Ouachita High School. The changes will mean bus drivers will take slightly longer to complete their routes.
