SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. (AP) - Lyon County sheriff’s deputies say a woman has apparently shot and killed her adult son in self-defense in Silver Springs.
Deputies responded to a home Friday night after the woman phoned 911 to report she had just shot her son.
Deputies arrived to find the man dead from a single gunshot wound. The woman was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.

Deputies say while initial indications are that the shooting was in self-defense, the death is under investigation.
The names of the two were not immediately released.
