BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - Boca Juniors defeated Godoy Cruz 3-0 on Sunday to move into the middle of the Argentine first-division standings.

Juan Ramon Riquelme scored early and Emmanuel Gigliotti added the other two goals as Boca improved to 15 points in 12 matches. It was a much-needed victory for the team after two straight losses.

San Lorenzo, whose backers include Pope Francis, won 2-1 at All Boys on Sunday to improve to 21 points and share the lead with Colon, also with 21. Colon lost 1-0 to Lanus on Saturday.

Maruo Matos and Walter Kannemann scored late in San Lorenzo’s victory, overcoming an early goal from All Boys’ Javier Campora.

Also on Sunday, Rosario Central defeated Newell’s 1-0 and Atletico Rafaela and Quilmes drew 2-2.

On Saturday, Racing defeated Velez Sarsfield 1-0.
