FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service and three other organizations are gearing up for the fifth Alaska Wood Energy Conference.
The three-day conference is scheduled to begin April 15 in Fairbanks and is planned for both individual and community issues.
Topics will include wood heating concerns for rural and interior Alaska residents such as sustainable supply and air quality.
Other presentations will address biomass options for communities and new wood-burning technologies.
The other sponsors are the Alaska Energy Authority, the Alaska Center for Energy and Power and the U.S. Forest Service.
