HOUMA, La. (AP) - The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office says a 22-year-old Chauvin (shoh-van) man was fatally shot at a home in west Houma and a teenage suspect was arrested.

Deputies responded to a 911 call in west Houma around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Terrebonne Parish sheriff’s Capt. Dawn Foret said deputies found Travis Clements with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Clements was pronounced dead later at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

A 17-year-old from Bayou Blue was booked with second-degree murder. He was awaiting a bond hearing Monday at the parish jail. The Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1jUkOmF ) that the suspect told investigators the shooting happened after Clements stole prescription drugs from the home.
