WEYERS CAVE, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police are investigating a head-on crash on Route 11 in August County that left two dead.

Investigators say the crash occurred Monday morning when a pickup truck swerved into the opposite lane to avoid a vehicle in the turn lane. The pickup then collided head-on with a car.

State police identified the driver of the pickup as 65-year-old Geraldine K. Sprouse of Craigsville. She died at the scene.

The other death involved a 33-year-old Fort Deviance man, Nicholas R. Broce. He also died at the scene.

Police say neither was wearing a seatbelt.
