NEWFANE, Vt. (AP) - A second telecommunications tower has been approved for the southern Vermont town of Newfane.

The state Public Service Board approved construction of the 140-foot-tall tower to improve cellular service along Route 30 and the immediate area.

AT&T is finishing installation of its first tower in South Newfane. It was approved by the Public Service Board last year, amid opposition from some residents who were worried about the impact on property values.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports (https://bit.ly/1bI41RH) the second tower had no major opposition.
