There’s a Shamu showdown in Sacramento Tuesday as the state Assembly holds its first committee meeting on a proposed bill would force SeaWorld San Diego to stop using killer whales in its shows.

2. POLICE STATION SHOOTOUT

An officer is expected to survive despite being shot seven times by a suspect who walked into a Los Angeles police station and opened fire. The suspect was shot several times and he’s in critical condition.

3. CAR TIPPING

There’s a big tipper in San Francisco. And police are looking for them. A spate of Smart have been found sitting on their sides, backs and roofs in the city, and no one has been arrested yet.

4. GLIDING INTO THE HOMESTRETCH

Two hang gliders made unplanned landings at Southern California’s horse racing track Santa Anita Park after being caught in heavy winds.
