SAN DIEGO (AP) - A San Diego County sheriff’s deputy has shot and wounded a man who stabbed his partner in the leg at a gas station.

Authorities say deputies were trying to arrest the man on a warrant at about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday when a struggle began and he pulled a knife. One deputy received a three-inch leg wound. The other opened fire.

The wounded deputy was treated at a hospital and released.

There’s no word on the condition of the other man but authorities say he’s expected to survive. His name hasn’t been released.
