BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A pet dog is recovering after tangling with what may have been a mountain lion in a southeast Boise neighborhood.

KTVB reports (https://bit.ly/1ebnexc) the dog was taken to a veterinarian Wednesday for treatment of a puncture wound.

The pet is expected to survive.

A woman who lives in the subdivision said she had spotted a cougar in her backyard the same morning.

A mountain lion attacked two dogs on the same street last May, killing one and injuring the other.

Idaho Fish and Game officials say they are investigating the attack.

Meanwhile, those who live in the neighborhood say they will be keeping a close eye on their pets.
