HOUMA, La. (AP) - Authorities in Terrebonne Parish say a 58-year-old Raceland man has been arrested on drug and parole violation charges.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter tells The Courier (https://bit.ly/1g99h1F ) Joseph Simmons was arrested Tuesday after multiple searches turned up $58,000 in cash believed connected to drug sales.

Larpenter says Simmons was booked at the Terrebonne Parish jail on two counts of cocaine distribution and a parole violation. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.
