ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Rochester are looking for the driver of a car that cut across traffic and caused a fatal collision between a car and a bus.

Police tell local media outlets the car turned left onto Jefferson Avenue at West Main Street around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Another driver swerved to avoid hitting the turning car and collided with a city transit bus. The driver who hit the bus died. His name hasn’t been released yet.

The victim’s car was nearly split in half from the impact with the bus. The car’s driver died at the scene and the bus driver was taken to the hospital with injuries described as minor.



Investigators are asking witnesses to call police.
