CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Corvallis city manager Jim Patterson says he’s leaving to take a job with the Oregon State University Foundation.

Patterson said in a statement Monday he has been named the foundation’s new senior associate athletics director. He will oversee fundraising communications, donor relations and the annual fund for OSU athletics.

Mayor Julie Manning says Patterson will be missed, but the city has a seasoned group of senior managers that will help keep things running during the search for a new city manager.

Patterson’s last day with the city will be Aug. 22.
