CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - An inmate at a federal prison camp in Morgantown has been sentenced to an additional year and two months on an escape charge.

Media outlets report Eugene Cobbs pleaded guilty Monday and was sentenced in federal court in Clarksburg.

The 43-year-old Cobbs was arrested in Mexico in June and was charged with escaping from FCI Morgantown in April 2013. A woman accused of buying a bus ticket for Cobbs and providing him money is set to stand trial next month.

In 2004, Cobbs crashed a small plane carrying $24 million worth of cocaine in Wheeling. He fled then and was captured in Mexico in 2008. He was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute and for flying without an airman’s certificate.
