DALLAS (AP) - Police have arrested a 60-year-old man who they say placed explosive devices near a Dallas home and shot at officers and firefighters.

Douglas Leguin (leh-GEEN’) of Corinth is being held without bail at the Dallas County jail, charged with seven counts of aggravated assault on a public servant.

Authorities say he shot at firefighters Monday who were responding to a dumpster fire. Bullets twice pierced a fire engine. They allege Leguin also fired on police, some who were responding to the fire and others answering a request from Denton County sheriff’s officials to look for Leguin at the residence.

Authorities contend Leguin placed propane tanks and jars filled with liquid next to the home. At least one tank had exploded.

Online jail records don’t indicate an attorney for Leguin.
