CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) - Some veterans want the Floyd County Board of Supervisors to remove the chairman of the county’s Veterans Affairs Commission.

The Mason City Globe Gazette says ( ) one of the veterans, Denny Hull, on Monday gave the board a petition requesting the ouster of Dennis Sanvig. It contained 245 signatures.

Hull says Sanvig’s “attitude and professionalism is not there.” Another veteran, David Rodamaker, says Sanvig had deputies throw him and two others out of a recent meeting because they didn’t agree with what Sanvig was saying.

Board of Supervisors chairman Roy Schwickerarth says Sanvig has a responsibility to maintain control of the meetings.

Monday’s supervisors meeting was a workshop session, so supervisors could not take action.

Sanvig declined to comment.
