NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Newark’s archbishop has appointed two new leaders to New Jersey’s St. Andrew’s Hall at Seton Hall University.

The Rev. John Chadwick will succeed Rev. Mark O’Malley as rector of the college seminary. O’Malley recently requested a medical leave of absence.

The Rev. Frederick Miller will become seminary spiritual director. Miller succeeds the Rev. Brian Needles, who is returning to Rome to complete his doctoral studies.

The archdiocese says 158 seminarians are currently studying for the priesthood at St. Andrews and Immaculate Conception Seminary.

Immaculate Conception Seminary in South Orange has been training men for the Catholic priesthood since 1861.
