COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police in central Ohio say a turning car struck a woman and her three young children in a crosswalk on a busy street, and the woman’s two-year-old daughter was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
Columbus police say the collision occurred Wednesday afternoon on the city’s east side. Police say the woman had a 6-day-old infant in a sling-type carrier and was walking next to her 7-year-old son and the toddler when the group was struck.
The infant was hospitalized in stable condition. The older boy suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital and released. The woman had minor injuries but refused treatment.
Investigators say the 26-year-old Columbus man who was driving the car stopped and cooperated with police.
There was no immediate word on any charges.
