COLUMBUS, Neb. (AP) - A 23-year-old Schuyler man has been accused of stealing checks from his employer and forging signatures.

The Columbus Telegram says (https://bit.ly/1pNEJWN ) Miguel De La Paz is scheduled to be in Platte County Court on Wednesday to face forgery charges. He was arrested on Aug. 6.

Authorities say De La Paz wrote the checks to himself and deposited them in his checking account in a Columbus bank. The total was around $2,000.

Online court records don’t list the name of De La Paz’s attorney.
