CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago woman whose body was found stuffed inside a suitcase on the Indonesian resort island of Bali was a member of a venerable Chicago book club and the widow of a highly regarded composer, producer and arranger.

The body of 62-year-old Sheila von Wiese-Mack’s was found Tuesday inside the trunk of a taxi parked in front of the St. Regis Bali Resort. Her 19-year-old daughter, Heather Mack, and the teenager’s 21-year-old boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, were being held for questioning in Indonesia.

Von Wiese-Mack was a member of the Caxton Club, a century-old book club in Chicago whose interests included Asian literature and Wagnerian opera. She was the widow of jazz and classical composer James L. Mack of Oak Park, who died in 2006.
