WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a woman was hurt when her car drove into a store in Wilmington.

It happened about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday at the Midway Plaza Shopping Center. Troopers say 62-year-old Marie Betts of Wilmington was driving in the lot trying to park.

Police say Betts mistook the car’s gas pedal for the brakes and drove about 15 feet into the Music and Arts Store. Troopers say Betts was trapped in her car for about 30 minutes. She was taken to Christiana Hospital as a precaution.

County building inspectors were assessing damage to the building.
