STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Highway Patrol says four people died at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which officially ended on Sunday.

The Patrol says the number of deaths recorded this year is down from six last in 2013 and nine in 2012.

Pennington County Capt. Jay Evenson tells the Rapid City Journal (https://bit.ly/1vNVvLp ) that a drop in attendance at this year’s rally could have been a factor.
