NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have arrested a man they say robbed 16 food stores and gas stations over a two-month period.
Troopers say about 2 p.m. Monday, a man robbed E & C Marketplace in New Castle at knifepoint. Officers say the robber fled in a car driven by a woman.
The car was stopped and the driver was arrested, but the man had left the car. Police arrested him at the woman’s home.
After obtaining a search warrant, troopers say they found linking the man to Monday’s robbery and others, all of which were committed at knifepoint.
Twenty-nine-year-old Brian Whiteside of Wilmington was charged with 16 counts of robbery and numerous other offenses.
